TOLL SHIPPING - WEBB DOCK CONTAINER TERMINAL UPGRADES, VIC
Client-Side Project Manager
Following from the success of the Toll Berthing and Infrastructure project, SwitchCo were engaged as Project Managers to deliver the $45M upgrade of the Toll Shipping and Tasmania terminals at Webb Dock, Port Melbourne. The scope of works for the project involved a large package of pavement works (including light, medium and heavy duty), construction of terminal infrastructure such as workshops, warehouses, gatehouses, fuel equipment and extensive electrical and underground services to install a new high voltage supply to the site. SwitchCo’s role as Project Managers includes a one stop shop of principal contractor and consultant management, budget and variation management, coordination of development approvals and building permits and everything in-between to safely deliver the project to a happy client.
SwitchCo were engaged by Toll after construction had commenced on-site. With no time to get up to speed, SwitchCo hit the ground running and established a rhythm to the project, using learnings and techniques employed for the previous successful Toll Berthing and Infrastructure project. With intimate knowledge of the site and experience with the terminal workforce, SwitchCo have demonstrated their value on the project by providing cost savings to Toll in the form of design challenges and alternate proposals to mitigate the impacts of latent conditions.
